The first comprehensive Hyperledger Fabric developer course online

We are excited to announce the launch of our new Hyperledger Fabric Developer Course! We have been watching the managed blockchain space for a while and the Hyperledger Foundation has been making significant progress recently.

This course is an extensive in-depth journey into blockchain theory, how Hyperledger Fabric works and a lot of hands-on experimentation. The course is designed to get you from 0 to 100 in 8 weeks.

What is Hyperledger Fabric?

The Hyperledger Foundation is an industry association tasked with developing enterprise managed blockchain solutions. That means that unlike protocols like Bitcoin or Ethereum, Hyperledger projects are designed for traditional businesses trying to improve internal data integrity, collaboration and bring IT cost down in the long run.

The first project to emerge from the Foundation is Hyperledger Fabric, a managed blockchain protocol that brings decentralisation and cryptographic improvements to systems that power businesses, large and small.

Why should I take this course?

As you can imagine, someone needs to do the actual coding when companies move to experiment and replace their legacy systems with blockchain implementations. This is the first advanced online Hyperledger Developer course worldwide. With training, you could gain, this could be serious first-mover advantage.

Whether you are interested to get a head start or you want to switch careers (or you maybe even have an offer already?) this course provides a full launch into blockchain and Hyperledger Fabric.

If you get certified we would also be happy to match you with an interested company wherever we can.

By the way, you do not have to know Go before you start. If you do, that is of course an advantage but we will teach you enough Go so you can write chaincode.

How does the course work?

The whole 8 weeks course is online. We have videos, texts, visualisations and lots of practical exercises. A new batch of content lands at your feet every week. In our experience you will need 8-12 hours a week to keep up. But if you need more time you will have another 12 weeks after the course to catch up and get certified.

Certified?

That brings us neatly to the certification. At the end of the course you can choose to take the final exam. If you score more than 80%, we will certify you!

Support & Interaction?

For the duration of the course you will be lavished with the support you need, by our instructors. You will be invited to our Slack channel where we can be found all day. You can ask questions and talk to the other students in your cohort.

What do I need to know before I start?

The course starts with the basics of blockchain so you do not need to know how it works.

But in order to get something out of the course you need to have programming experience, we recommend at least one year. Although the basics will be explained, some self-study of Golang can help prepare you for this training.

Someone needs to build it

The infrastructure of tomorrow needs sound developers. Stay ahead.

How about the content?

This course is designed to teach you everything you need to know even if you have no previous experience with blockchain technology. It covers basic blockchain theory, Hyperledger Fabric infrastructure, chaincode and enough Go to get you going.

Project Work

The final exam consists of a project, which is split up into 4 parts. Some aim to highlight your understanding of the underlying concepts and others check your command of all the different tools. You need to achieve 80% or more of a total of 100 points to pass the exam. You will have 12 weeks to submit your final exam after the course ends. The final exam is supposed to be an individual project, we expect course participants to not work together. During the exam time you have access to the course content and to the B9lab support team.

Support & Interaction

For the duration of the course participants will be provided with a high level support by instructors. Participants are able to collaborate and exchange experiences within their cohort through different communication channels on slack.

Rob has worn many hats in his extensive IT career including experience designing, constructing, implementing and operating innovative software solutions, developing training programs and supporting online education platforms. Rob has been dabbling in blockchain technology since the early days and quickly recognised the disruptive potential of Smart Contracts and decentralised apps. Since 2016, Rob has been absorbing all things related to Smart Contracts and supporting developers on their quest to master this technology.

Schedule

The course runs for 8 weeks. During this time you are supported by our instructors full time. The course content is kept up to date. After the 8-week run you have 12 weeks to submit your final exam. During these 12 weeks you are supported by the community.
