Introduction to Tezos for Developers
This free course provides an overview and basic understanding of blockchain technology, public and distributed networks, and Tezos. Tezos is a public blockchain based on a pure proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and is one of the first pure PoS blockchains with a live mainnet. Tezos is unique in that its stakeholders vote on amendments to the protocol, including amendments to the voting procedure itself, via an on-chain governance mechanism to reach stakeholder consensus on proposals. This is meant to disincentivize network forks and presents an alternative to “fork-based governance.” Once consensus has been achieved by stakeholders, Tezos amends itself to lower the coordination and execution costs of conducting a protocol upgrade.
